As much is happening around the world, it would appear we have come into a new era. The times we are in is very apparent, it calls for those with an assignment to rise up and take action to transform lives. As soon as God has equipped and release you to raise others up, don't delay, rise up and go.
Getting your house in order is one of the prequisites to being obedient to the call in operating in your assignment, whether it's preparing for marriage restoration so that both you and your spouse can minister to families and marriages, build your children and release them to the Kingdom, or even relocating to a new country for ministry, we are all called to get our house in order for the assignment.
Imagine you are about to birth a baby, before that baby comes home from the hospital, everyone available to support you has to make the home and the baby room comfortable for your return. This means making accomodation on your time schedule for feeding times, sleeping times and nursing baby times, the home is prepared to receive the new pattern of having a baby in the home.
The same applies to us, when God says get your house in order, what does this mean in His instructions to us?
He is actually telling us to make room for the new, remove the old, throw out the familiar, renew your mind, set your face like flint on the things of God, be uncompromisingly astute in His direction, don't get distracted, but make sure EVERYTHING is in order for the new thing about to come into your life, this also includes making accomodation and this comes with huge sacrifices.
Let me also extend this meaning to preparing your heart to receive what God is sending you. For those who have been standing for marriage restoration this is a crucial instruction, you have been living on your own for years, focusing on the children for those who have children and you have gotten into a routine without your husband. Infact, your routine doesn't factor him in the equation because life happens and you roll with what's available to you, so your mind isn't thinking about how you live with him in the present circumstances of your daily life.
However in this new era, you have to change your heart to receive him back into your life and in the same home, maybe not like before, but in an improved way, a way where both live with each other under mutual respect and love.
In the book of Genesis, when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Genesis 17:1/2
In this passage, there is a condition and a promise
1. Walk before me faithfully and be blameless.
2. Then I will make my covenant between me and you.
We know that Abraham had done all manner of things to bring the promise to pass through his own means, he took Sarah's maid, Hagar and created a son called Ishmael from that union, Abraham new better than to do this, but maybe he was trying to please his wife, who didn't trust God's promise and couldn't see how she would conceive in her old age. However, here God returns back to Abraham after all had been done and tells him to walk blameless (righteous) before him, this meant he couldn't do what he wanted any longer, it had to be what God wanted making sure his life honours God, he had to operate in a manner worthy of his relationship with God. In a nutshell, Abraham had to Get His House In Order, God had pronounced a new season over him, a season that would bring a new covenant between Abraham and God and God would through the new covenant would greatly increase Abraham's generation with the promise.
God wanted Abraham to know that the promise coming cannot afford for Abraham to step out of line again, but that he must operate from a place of maturity. Abraham had to make room for the impending promise that was about to happen.
What about Jesus?
We all know that the Old Testament prophecied the Coming of a Messiah to the world to deliver us and bring salvation to the nation. Jesus was pure and clean, therefore the lineage in which He would come through needed to be clean. Ruth was a Moabites, a nationwho served other God's, but isn't it facinating that Ruth decided to foresake her family god to follow Naomi and accept the One true God. The bible says that Ruth was a decendant of Jesus, because when she married Boaz, she birthed Obed, who was the father of Jesse, who was the father of David, the generation in which Jesus camed through.
In this season of restoration/breakthrough/manifestation of the promise, God is calling us to get our house in order for the promise, many of us have been waiting in Christ for the manifestation and it is here, but you must know how God wants you to get your house in order, it could be literally cleansing your home an throwing out old memories of stuff, it could be changing your home around, it could be organising your children into an organised routine, or it could be adhering to godly activity and observing true right standing in all areas of your life, God knows what He wants you to do and He will make that clear as you seek Him.
Just like the pandemic that brought in a new era, we are in another new era. There are seasons in an era and timings within seasons. I encourage you to know what this era is bringing you and what season God is working in you and the timings to observe and I promise you, you will see the salvation of the Lord in the land of the living.
God is creating a new covenant with you in this season, a covenant that brings in the promises of God in marriage, children, ministry and business etc, therefore it is very important to get your house in order.
