Repairer of the Walls and Restorer of the City - Your Family Mandate

Writer: jacquelineanijacquelineani

This morning, during my devotion, my thoughts went to the names of the generations.

Generation Names

  • The Greatest Generation – born 1901-1927. ...

  • The Silent Generation – born 1928-1945. ...

  • The Baby Boomer Generation – born 1946-1964. ...

  • Generation X – born 1965-1980. ...

  • Millennials – born 1981-1996. ...

  • Generation Z – born 1996-2012. ...

  • Gen Alpha – born 2013 – 2025.

I don't know why, but I found it very interesting to study the names of the generations exisiting in the earth, I even went into reading what each generation is know for, how they think and how they are coping in this present age of AI.

For the sake of time, I won't go into that in this blog, but what caused me to do some research is because I was thinking about what God expects from us in this generation and how He wants for us to pass on the truth to the next generations. That means your children and children's children.

I grew up in a Christian home, I remember when my mother would gather us around as she would pray for us, read the Bible and bring meaning to the word. I was a Catholic at the time, so the word of God didn't make much sense to us, but we all believed in praying.

I have continued this pattern with my own children, this every Sunday we gathered together, this Sunday, I taught them about their gifts through scripture and then prayed over them to activate the message of knowing their gifts and then we took Holy Communion, it was literally church.

Each generation has been given an assignment and it is our duty to ensure they know who God is, so that they learn how to hear Him direct them into the purpose for their lives, I guess the reason why this is important is because, if we don't teach our children about Jesus and what God has done for us, what happens to their lives and their knowledge of sound doctrine and truth? Thank God for His Ways as He Calls us to live like Remnants so that we can raise Repairers of the Breach and be the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

Isaiah 58:12 - Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins    and will raise up the age-old foundations;you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,    Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

A definition of a breach is an act of breaking a law, promise, agreement, or relationship

We are to raise up a generation from our legacy to rebuild others and keep the laws of God in a world that seems to be more and more rebellious in nature and behaviour.

What about repairer of walls, a restorer of streets/city to dwell In?

A good description of this is in the book of Judges 5, where Deborah and Barak's song describes what life was like before she arose.

Judges 5: 6-7 - In the days of Shamgar son of Anath,    in the days of Jael, the highways were abandoned;    travelers took to winding paths.  Villagers in Israel would not fight;    they held back until I, Deborah, arose,    until I arose, a mother in Israel.

To ensure streets and the city are safe for the next generation, someone has to arise to defy the evil in this period and if God has called you through your Stand, then it was never about your marriage, but about the next generation, God is using you as a Remnant to preserve truth by living it, so that you can pass it to the next generation.

I don't know about you, but I constantly think about my children and how they will live life when I go to be with the Lord, am I empowering them to live a life in Christ? How to purse Him and worship Him, believing in only Him alone? To be confident beyond a shadow of doubt that when they call on Him, He will answer and until He does, they should patiently wait on Him.

We are called to raise repairers, as we restore them to God Almighty, this is the call, our children, our legacy the next generation.

When we begin to raise our children in knowing their purpose, God's Sons will come back knowing this is a call, a standard for raising godly children for the Kingdom.

The Bible says one of the reason for marriage is to raise godly children, God wants to populate His Kingdom with godly children, and we must be the people to do this with Him, otherwise we are praying for our own desires and that is for a marriage that satisfies our flesh.

We are to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness first and all other things will be added. His Kingdom needs godly children, His Kingdom needs men operating in true Sonship, His Kingdom needs Daughters who understand their call. His Kingdom needs a righteous family so that He can use it to glorify Himself and draw the lost to Him.

Ladies build  your generation to be repairers to build as you continue to pray for restoration of the lost.
